The problem

The whole street elevation was powdering — you could take material off with a thumbnail, and the owners were sweeping stone dust off the balcony every morning. The moulded string course had lost most of its profile.

The approach

Full brush-down first, which removed a surprising amount. Test patch on the return elevation showed ΔE well within range. Two coats, wet on wet, over three days working in the shade as the sun moved round.

The outcome

Shedding stopped completely. No visible colour change against the untreated return. The moulding is stable — what’s lost is lost, but it isn’t losing more.

The problem

Exposed south-west elevation taking the full winter driven rain, with surface loss concentrated in the lower three metres and salt staining above the plinth.

The approach

The salt source was traced and dealt with before any treatment — a blocked downpipe. Wall left to dry for three weeks. Two coats.

The outcome

Water now sheets off the face. The wall dries visibly faster after rain. Treated in March and through the following winter with no further surface loss.
