Before buying

It needs to be bare limestone or sound lime render, with no paint or previous sealer, and no active damp source. If you’re unsure, send us photos.

Use the coverage calculator. Absorbency varies a lot, so buy to the upper figure — running out mid-elevation is the one mistake that’s hard to fix.

It’s water-based with no solvents and under 30 g/L VOC, and it has no odour. Follow the safety data sheet, keep it off skin and eyes, and keep people off the working area while you apply. There’s nothing to ventilate afterwards.

On most stone, no perceptibly — measured colour change is typically ΔE 2.1 or below. On very absorbent stone it can reach 3.4, which is visible in direct comparison. Test first.

No. There’s no film. It doesn’t sit on the surface, so there’s nothing to reflect.

Applying

Six hours.

Low-pressure garden sprayer or a brush. Not a high-pressure or airless sprayer — you’ll atomise it and lose most of it.

No. It’s supplied ready to use.

After treatment

The consolidation is permanent. The water repellency needs renewing after roughly 10 to 15 years on an exposed elevation.

Yes, directly. There’s no film to strip.

Not with conventional masonry paint — that undoes the breathability and puts you back where you started. Mineral silicate paints are compatible.

Tell us what happened, with photos. If the product underperformed its specification, that’s covered.
